About the Artist
Woo Hannah’s work imagines an existence that transcends the notion of a finite and fixed body. Based on this, she depicts a scenario where all beings are equal to one another in a horizontal relationship, breaking away from the existing dichotomy which divides humans and non-humans. She presents a situation in which opposite and polarized beings, such as the living and the non-living, the protecting and the protected, the old and the young, the painful and the joyful, converge and complement each other in works that do not limit the boundaries of genres, ranging from painting to sculpture to installation which is based on fabric as the main material.
Woo Hannah (B.1988) received both BFA and MFA from the Korea National University of Arts’ department of Visual Art and has held solo exhibitions at Frieze No.9 Cork Street (London, 2023), G Gallery (2023), and Song Eun Art Cube (2020). Her recent group exhibitions include Summer Love (Song Eun Art Center, 2022), Sculptural Impulse (Buk-Seoul Museum of Art, 2022), Superhero (Insa Art Space, 2020), 2020 Next Code (Daejeon Museum of Art, 2020), Nothing Twice (Seoul Museum of Art, Buk Seoul, 2019), Superfuture Food (Arko Museum of Art, 2019), Linkin Out (Ilmin Museum of Art, 2019), LOTUS LAND (National Asian Cultural Center, 2017), and many others, in addition to participating in the Art Plant Asia 2020 exhibition Hare Way Object. She received the Frieze Artist Award in 2023 and was a recipient of the Seoul Arts Council Fund in 2018 and 2019.

About the Artist

우한나(B.1988)는 한국예술종합학교 미술원 조형예술과 예술사, 동대학원을 졸업하고, Frieze No.9 Cork Street (London, 2023), 지갤러리 (2023), 송은아트큐브 (2020) 등에서 개인전을 열었다.〈Summer Love〉(송은아트센터, 2022), 〈조각충동〉(서울시립북서울미술관, 2022), 〈슈퍼히어로〉(인사미술공간, 2020), 〈2020넥스트코드〉 (대전시립미술관, 2020), 〈두 번의 똑같은 밤은 없다〉(서울시립북서울미술관, 2019), 〈슈퍼퓨처푸드〉 (아르코미술관, 2019), 〈린킨아웃〉(일민미술관, 2019), 〈LOTUS LAND〉(국립아시아문화전당, 2017) 등 다수의 그룹전 및 아트플랜트아시아 2020 주제전 〈토끼 방향 오브젝트〉에 참여하였다. 2023년 Frieze Artist Award를 수상하였고 2018년 및 2019년에 서울문화재단 기금을 수혜했다.
